The Indian Ocean Firefish, also known as the Fire Dartfish, Magnificent Firefish or Fire Dartfish is a stunning and graceful addition to any aquarium. With its vibrant colors and flowing fins, this peaceful and reef-safe fish adds a lively yet calming presence to community tanks. Since Indian Ocean Firefish are known to jump when startled, a tank with a secure lid is essential. They thrive on a diet of meaty foods, including mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood like fish or clam, and preparations for carnivorous fish which should be offered at least twice daily to meet their energetic needs. Reaching up to 3 inches in length, Indian Ocean Firefish require a minimum tank size of 20 gallons. They are native to the Indo-Pacific, where they inhabit sandy or rocky reefs at depths of up to 85 feet.
